This is a demonstration website. Woodside Car Service, LLC is a fictional business, but the code behind this site and the hosting it runs on are both real, so everything below is a genuinely accurate description of what this particular website does with anything you type into it.
What the contact form collects
The only place on this site that asks you for anything is the form on the contact page. It asks for:
- Your name
- Your email address, so we can reply
- An optional telephone number, if you would rather we called
- Your vehicle's year, make and model, and its mileage if you know it
- Roughly when suits you to bring the car in
- What your message is about, chosen from a short list of topics
- Whatever you write in the message field itself
Nothing else on the site asks you for anything. There is no account to create, no newsletter to sign up for, and no field hidden anywhere that collects more than what is printed on the form in front of you.
What happens after you press send
This site does not have a database, an admin panel or a spreadsheet that your message lands in. What actually happens is a managed service: submitting the form sends your fields to an endpoint operated by MaiaHost, the hosting platform this demonstration runs on. That endpoint checks a single-use token issued when the page loaded and a captcha, both there to filter out automated and repeated submissions rather than to identify you, and only once those checks pass does it deliver your message as an email to a mailbox on this domain.
Because Woodside Car Service, LLC is not a real workshop, that mailbox is not read by a mechanic and nothing you send through this form results in an appointment, a call back or a quote for an actual vehicle. It exists to demonstrate that the form itself works, not to run a business.
Cookies, analytics and third-party trackers
This site sets no analytics cookies and no advertising cookies, and it does not embed a third-party analytics platform, an advertising pixel, a social-media widget or a chat bot on any page. There is no cookie banner because there is genuinely nothing here to ask your consent for.
The one piece of code loaded from outside this domain is the contact-form script referred to above, and it appears only on the contact page. It exists to submit your message and to run the captcha and token check described above, not to follow you around the web, build an advertising profile, or report your visit anywhere else.
No visitor profile is built
There is no login, no account, no persistent identifier set to recognise you on a return visit, and no cross-site tracking of any kind. Submitting the form tells us what is in the form; browsing the rest of the site does not add anything to a file about you, because no such file exists.
Ordinary web server logs
Like effectively every website, the server this site runs on keeps a short-term access log — the requesting IP address, the time, the page requested and the browser's user agent string — purely for security and troubleshooting. That log is not cross-referenced with anything submitted through the contact form, is not used to build a profile of anyone, and is not shared with or sold to anyone.
How long anything is kept
A message that reaches the mailbox described above stays there until someone deletes it — there is no fixed retention period published for a demonstration inbox, and no automatic purge runs against it. The server's access logs are rotated on the ordinary schedule any web server uses, rather than kept indefinitely.
Getting a copy, or asking for it to be deleted
If you have sent a message through this site and would like a copy of what was recorded, or would like it deleted, email carservice@bestdealwebdesign.com with your name and roughly when you sent it, and it will be located and actioned. There is no self-service account to log into, because there is no account system at all — a plain email is the whole mechanism.
What this notice does not claim
This is a plain, specific description of what this small demonstration website actually does — not a claim of compliance with any particular privacy law, and not a certification of any kind. A real business handling real customer data would need a great deal more than this page; this one needs exactly this much, because collecting a name, an email address and a message through one form, and emailing it on, is the whole of what this site does.
Because this is a demonstration
None of the above changes the fact that Woodside Car Service, LLC does not exist. No message sent through this site reaches a real repair shop, a real mechanic, or a real business of any kind — it reaches a mailbox kept for the purposes of this demonstration, and nothing more. See the terms of use for the fuller version of that statement.
